DEHRADUN: A 50-foot long cake depicting river Ganga's journey through Uttarakhand from its origin at Gaumukh to its merger with the ocean at Gangasagar, was baked by students of the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Dehradun on the occasion of World Food Day on Friday.
The cake was cut by Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat who hailed the efforts of the students as an 'excellent way to spread awareness about the holy river and the need to keep it clean.'
According to IHM officials, this was the first time that a cake this long was baked anywhere in the state.
